My homage to Korea, America, and the Olympics!

I did these nails while watching all 5 hours of the opening ceremonies, I should have posted this earlier sorry about that.

Anyway hope everybody's having fun cheering on their countries! 

Two tone!

This look was pretty simple to do, I applied two coats of Jazz by Essie as the base color and waited for it to
dry completely. Then I took a post-it note, picked a corner of my nail and then pressed the post-it down diagonally. I then applied two coats of Turquoise & Caicos also by Essie over the base color, add a top coat and then you're done! 

Herringbone

I first saw this look Lauren Conrad's website called thebeautydepartment.com

I thought it was so cute and nice for the summer so I looked into what colors she used to see if I could do it on myself. All the colors that she used were a bit on the pricey side so I checked out my own collection to see what I could work with. 

Fortunately I ended up finding pretty similar colors from drugstore brands. From left to right: Shine On-Urban Decay (This color was part of a  mini summer collection and may be hard to find I would suggest using Good as Gold- Essie which runs around $8 or Gold Coin- Revlon which costs about $4-5), Green With Envy- Maybelline: Color Show, Charming- Revlon, and Make Mine Mango-Revlon

And this is my attempt at the final look!

Nails of the week: Simply green

As the photos above show, the colors that I used this week are Essie's Going Incognito and also Essie's Turquoise & Caicos. I really like the color combination mostly because they're shades of my favorite color green!

On a side note the weather here in New York has been brutally hot, so for those of you that have to endure this heat with me, stay hydrated and keep cool!

I'm Back!

It's been quite a while since my last post but I'm itching to get back on this thing all of a sudden.
This post won't have any nail news but it's just kind of an "I'm gonna try this again!" announcement.
With that said I'm off to work on my first "real" post back on this blog. See you guys later!

Checkered Nails!

I realize that a week has not passed since my first post but I just could not help myself hehe.
I thought of something else do to and had the urge to share it with all... one... of you.

Introducing checkered nails~!
For whenever you feel like making your nails look like a picnic blanket :)

First start off with a base coat, I use Orly's Nail Armor

Then do two coats of OPI's Skull & Glossbones

Take the brush side of a green nail art pen and draw 3-4 vertical lines down your nail

Then go ahead and draw horizontal lines, after that take the pen portion of the cap and start to fill the squares diagonally until you get....

this! 

Now take a transparent glittery polish such as China Glaze's Fairy Dust and apply one coat once your design has dried thoroughly

This would be the rough draft...

Lastly, you're going to need your handy dandy top coat, which for me is the Out The Door top coat, to seal in all your hard work!

And here we are! The final design~

Hello everyone!

Firstly, before I say anything else I would like to thank the gracious few of you who have decided to spend a moment of their time reading this blog. You are greatly appreciated.

Secondly, I'd like to welcome you to my colorful world of nail polish!
